Google Reinforces the Mobile Revolution

One crucial aspect of digital marketing is getting found on organic searches. To that end, more and more businesses are spending a large percentage of their marketing budgets on SEO. Things in the SEO world are about to be shaken up once again. Google is sending out a loud and clear message that can be interpreted as, “We are concerned only with making web searches easier and more effective for the general public”. Since these “users” are increasingly “mobile users”, it is obvious that Google will want to favor this demographic. Apple iPhone 6 and iWatch Announcement

We all wait with bated breath to hear about Apple’s new offerings tomorrow (September 9th 2014). Tim Cook will present at the Flint Center for the Performing Arts in Cupertino, CA the two highly anticipated new versions of the iPhone; the 4.7 inch and the 5.5 inch phablet. Not only will the larger size and added “curviness” of the the iPhone 6 be part of the evolution, but also the expectation of its NFC technology (Near Field Communication) that will allow users tap-to-pay ability. Reports that Apple has negotiated with Visa, Mastercard and American Express for its payment plans consolidate this expectation.   The addition of an ultra-durable sapphire crystal screen which is pretty much unscratchable, is a feature that perhaps excites me more than the others, after having ruined more than […]

Small Business Website Mistakes

Not considering the design of the website at all is another mistake. Keeping an outdated website is another no-no. If your website content gets stale, visitors ae less likely to return. Google and other search engines frown upon stale […]

Why Your Business Needs A Responsive Website Before 2014

If you’ve ignored previous warnings and your business isn’t taking advantage of responsive web design right now or planning on it in the very near future, you are in danger of going out of business in 2014. There are three exceptions to the rule; 1) you don’t depend on your website to stay in business, 2) you have no competitors, or 3) you are familiar with responsive design, you’ve already verified it’s not the right fit for you, as Linkedin has, and you have an alternative mobile strategy. If any of these three apply to you, then you’re ok, carry on. But if your company depends on its website enough that losing the business it brings to you would be a serious blow, getting a responsive website before the end of the year should be your #1 online marketing goal. [read full article]
